What are the intersections of AI and theatre? What happens when we bring chatbots – such as ChatGPT or Deep Seek – into the creative process? Uncanny Dialogs is a hands-on workshop exploring the possibilities and limitations of AI in theatrical storytelling. It is grounded in our work in the context of the European Cooperation Project Viable Unknowns and the production we are creating for it – New World: Unknown. Participants will engage in discussions and practical exercises to investigate how AI-generated inputs can shape performances, challenge narratives, and open new avenues for artistic collaboration.
This workshop invites theatre-makers, writers, and anyone curious about AI to explore…
The potential of chatbots as creative partners in theatre.
Techniques for prompting AI to generate meaningful and unexpected dialogue.
Ethical questions surrounding AI in performance—who speaks, who decides, and what biases might emerge?
The sustainability of AI-assisted creation and its impact on artistic processes.
